Having a space that allows you and your family to gather in, entertain friends, create memories, or to simply kick up your feet and relax in, is a must-have in a family home.

Our client had an extra space in their home that was being underutilized, and that they dreamed of converting from their dining room, into a bold and eclectic sitting space for quiet moments, but also to entertain and host gatherings.

The main challenge was that they had no focal point in the space and were stuck on how to arrange their existing furniture. Like most homeowners, they had a design vision, but didn’t know how to bring it to life and create the ultimate living space for their family.

Our design solution resulted in a tech-free space full of color, personality and history that met their everyday entertaining, and family fun night needs. It’s the kind of room that just might bring the word parlor back. And for a touch of nostalgia, we refurbished and converted the client’s family heirloom sewing machine into a functional bar cart for special occasions. This space is now the perfect spot to enjoy a snooze or some booze.
