The KGI Edit #8
Hello friends! I’m giving the “to do” list a break this week, and returning to my regular topic of featuring my weekly finds...and I have some good ones. Enjoy!
1.) Designer you need to know - Athena Calderone. Based out of Brooklyn, she’s the brain behind the blog EyeSwoon (all things design, food, beautiful things…you get it), and author of Cook Beautiful, and most recently Live Beautiful. It’s my favorite design book at the moment and I keep flipping through the pages, finding inspiration each time I open it. Her design style has a global, curated feel and all of her spaces are adorned with interesting vintage finds (or objects of curiosity as I like to call them). Check out her blog and Insta for design artistry at its finest.
2.) Misfits Market - AWESOME organic produce delivery service that costs 40% less than the grocery store. Did you know that nearly half of the fruits and vegetables grown by farmers in this country are never sold? All because the produce may be lumpy, look odd or have grown funny, and don’t look “perfect.” Yet organic produce costs are still rising. Well this service sends you those “misfit” items that aren’t always perfect, but are always healthy and delicious. I really wanted to up my veggie intake, and by getting these deliveries, I’m surpassing my goal. Give it a try! To get 25% off your first delivery enter the promo code COOKWME-JU0OOY at checkout.
3.) Another favorite designer of mine is Shea McGee. Shea, along with her husband Syd have a crazy successful design biz and brand called Studio McGee. Think classic, neutral and a little bit earthy. So when I found out that she teamed up with Threshold/Target, I literally squealed. So many beautiful decor items at an amazing price point. Because the line was just released, a lot of items are out of stock (unfortunately). But you can sign up to be notified when it’s back in stock, and a lot of Target stores are carrying the line in store. Here is a peek at some of my faves.
4.) Kate Hudson (love her) came out with her own premium craft vodka brand called King Street Vodka. Named after the street she lived on in the Greenwich village in New York City, this spirit is crafted in Santa Barbara and made with alkaline water, is gluten free and 7x distilled for purity. It’s the good stuff. The best part of this story is that the inspiration behind the brand was when Kate realized (when looking at her bar and the vodka bottles), that none of them were created by a woman. So she made her own.
